Today, we gonna be looking at the legend of...I don't have a special title for him, but nonetheless, he is Steve Harvey! Yes yes, cease thy applause. Anyway, everyone has their climb to the top, Steve Harvey was no exception to this. He had many great points and stories to tell throughout these grand 30 minutes of my life. I connected to the whole, father pushing you to achieve your goals. Even with my somewhat rocky relationship with my father, he still tries to push me forward in his own way. Then declaring that you are gonna achieve what he wanted to be. I don't do this normally, because I have no clue what to be. But, if I ever do figure it out, I will probably do this. Also, addressing when you are scared. It is an important step to doing things, and it shows if you have the capacity to be brave. Brave being the fact you can get over something even though you are scared. Moving towards this other thing he said, about failure just being a stepping stone. It really is, if you let it get to you, it not a stepping stone, it is an anvil. So, take with it, a learning thing. Finally, the last thing is that no one can keep you down but yourself. It be like that, in the end, you are the one that controls if you do things, only yourself to blame really. Just got to push through it, just got to believe.

Well, I got around to this blog entry, finally. There seems to never be enough time in the day, which is where my first connection to this article is. I have generally horrible time management, yet I still do it sometime, when I can. I usually don't set aside time, because things change too frequently to be like, I got to do this today. I do them when I am open. So, yeah, would be nice to try and work on that, but. I do what I can. Heart and soul is the next one to get my attention. Since, you know when I put myself into something, I usually put my soul into it, which means to me I put stuff in that is me, not a mask. Heart is a little harder, but I generally put it in no matter what, it just makes things more fun. Then, the joke I always make is that I kind of suck everywhere else, but I got a 10/10 personality. Honestly, personality matters so much to people. If your personality doesn't click in someway, it means nothing to really hangout with them, at least extensively. These are more important then money, they just make you feel like a good boy on the inside. Video: https://www.thewoodeneffect.com/john-wooden-winning-succeeding/
So, here I am again. Writing another blog. This one is more in response to John Wooden's TED talk video, and his quote unquote pyramid of success. Pressing forward on this, I don't rightly enjoy these kind of things, but I will give it a try, none the less. Welp, this is shortly after the video, and it is exactly what can be expected, but hey at least it makes us feel good. Anyway, point one, I found it more funny hearing him say being raised with the mindset that your parents expect a "A" or a "B," but the neighbors children can get a "C" since they are average, and you are not. That is quite funny since if you are an A or B student in most of your life, and you even think about touching a C in highschool or college level. You are dead to them, not actually, but you get the point. Toward the next one, don't try to be better then someone else. So many angles to go at this, but, let's go with the simple one, shall we. It is just good advice, if you try to be better then someone willingly in certain types of fields, and in a negative manner. That just makes you a right expletive word. It makes sense for sports and the like, but not like, "hey Tom, bet I can make a better pizza," people just shouldn't do that. Finally to the last idea here, one of faith. The thing that people always bring up when they are in trouble times, or someone near them is in trouble times. It is just a real good mindset when you think about it, and really when your mindset is positive, it makes things easier. One cannot be always in the red forever. So, now time for this pyramid of his. I get to choose two areas of it. I got the team spirit and all that. I just need an appropriate enviornment for it and all. Also, most of the time you need a team, and if you ain't got spirit. Well, sure as heck gonna make things a whole right more difficult. Self-control matters a lot, you need that just in general really when it comes to many things. If you don't control yourself, who will? Rhetorical, don't answer, but if you did say someone. Why are they controlling you that much? Are you saying without them you would be dead on the floor without someone to tell you what to do, or you become a mass murderer. You need that self-control to do things. |
